Dungeons and Dragons Night on Tuesdays

Here are some images from a typical Dungeons and Dragons Night down at the Club on a Tuesday night. The game is run by Brian Goodison, he is linking together a number of ad hoc, customised adventures to suit our party's development.

The party consists of:

  1. Swordmage Tank
  2. Hexblade DPS / Striker
  3. Ranger DPS / Striker
  4. Rogue DPS / Striker
  5. Wizard Controller
  6. Battle Cleric Leader / Healer

We are all level 6 and have played this game together for about a year. We used to meet at my house but with the advent of the new Club we have moved to bigger tables and lighter rooms at Ruskin Drive.

All new players are welcome, in the meantime have a look at the pictures, I will post new sessions and images on a regular basis

DM

DM Setup With Initiative Order hanging from his DM Screen

We setup an encounter that has occured as we investigate a Watch Tower that has fallen silent since a recent Orc invasion - Standard D&D fare for fantasy fans.

You will notice we use really nice maps, and always play with figures, I have recently ordered new miniatures for the player characters from Reaper Miniatures. I will post pictures when they arrive.

battle setup

The party approach a camp of Orc's cautiously, the Map is by Piazo and is part of their gamesmastery series. I love maps and accessories for D&D they make the encounters come alive.

Advance

As we get closer the Rogue / Thief is looking for a good spot to Sneak Attack

Ged Hogan who plays the Ranger Pieky (Don't tell him your name!) Re enacts the moment the encounter starts when his arrow Crits an Orc Leader ! Thunk !

Closing in

The Orcs are lured forward and the party ambush them ! its only a matter of time ! In this shot you can see the Leader Ublala (In Cream Plate and a Morningstar) He gets attacked by three and heals himself to full twice while the rest of the party kick Orc butt ! My Hexblade (RevenantThiefling) waits to strike - I'm the one in a green cloak and brown leather armour.

Ready for the next session! the Gnolls and Orcs are slain from last week what will tonight bring?

Brian

Brian un-leash's two undead Bears on us - We block the entrance to the room and take them on one by one

Bear or not

Well it may not look like an undead bear but it does look rather fearsome, the LEader Cleric and the combat rogue take it on while the ranger and the hexblade stay back and pile on the pain from a safe distance.

Bad dice

When I say pain what I mean is a slight scratch ! as Yurks the Half Orc Rogue rolls the worst damage dice this year ! what a Wally :-)

New threat

After dealing with the undead animated Bears we set about dealing with a summoned Lion Beast and its magical followers! While Ublala and Yurk take the creature on toe to toe, meantime the Ranger stays back and fills it with arrows and shrapnel from his Great Frost Bow while Toc the Hexblade Solo's the Mage and its assistant .

All told a great night for the party and time to leave the cave and find safety in the woods outside for a rest.

Lion Beast? It was a toothless Hound of Yeenoghu. Gumming you to death would have taken at least six hours! The chamber was actually a Dentists surgery where supposedly tough (level 9 elite) monsters come to have their teeth pulled and their talons clipped. :P

Yurk did make up for his poor roll later when he hit for 63 damage!
