Session One;

Called into the office of Spiro Theopolis, Managing Director of Arkham Investigations Inc., William Evans was handed a telegram by his angry-faced boss. Dated January 1925 it was from an old aquaintance, a friend who he hadn't seen for some time, but still a valued friend all the same. It requested he gather some investigators together and get to New York for the following week for his friend, Jackson Elias had some interesting news about The Carlyle Expedition.

Luckily Evans had some investigative friends handy; Prof. Erasmus Quicksilver (incurable racists and collector of pornographic statuetes), Karl-Heinz Stockhausen (philanthropist, pugilist and cad), Yakamoto Jones (drifter) and Charles Luciano (thug and 'business' partner of a Mr.A.Capone). After some research at Arkham library it was found that the Carlyle Expedition was raised in New York in 1919 by a rich playboy and sailed to London then on to Egypt before vanishing in Kenya, never to be seen again.

Gears of War Boardgame Session PDF Print E-mail

Gears of War Boardgame Session Report

Game description from the publisher:

For a time, the humans of Sera knew peace...then Emergence Day came. The Locust horde arrived without warning, and countless horrors spilled forth from their underground burrows. The Coalition of Organized Governments (COG) struggled to fend off the subterranean threat, but their defenses were quickly crushed. With billions dead, humans turned their weapons of mass destruction on their own cities to deny the enemy control. Now the long struggle against overwhelming odds approaches one final, desperate stand.

This Tuesday we decided to play gears of war the boardgame by Fantasy Flight, as our DM for D&D was unavailable. What a great choice of game as the three of us who played, me, Phil Crompton and Rob from War and Hobby all had a really fun time getting our backsides kicked by the Locust Hordes.

In the scenario we picked we had to find a suitable place to put a scanning device which was going to map out the Locust nest that had taken up residence beneath the area.

Print and Play Delux - Barbarian Prince

barbarian prince

I recently downloaded and played a solo game from the early 80's called Barbarian Prince. This game has its roots firmly in the age when fantasy gaming was king and solo gaming had mass appeal. The fighting fantasy books from Steve Jackson games opening up a world of interactive reading to everyone and computer games like the Hobbit were changing the way we played games on our own.
